Charlotte: Protesters Demand Work or Wages at Mayor’s Home

Video Transcript: “On March 26th 2020, the City of Charlotte, specifically Vi Lyles and Mecklenburg County issued a shelter-in-place order.  In the face of this economic crisis, this order was signed into place without a guarantee of lost wages.  The federal government, like the City Council, are unwilling to invest in wages and healthcare.  This is not a question of negligence. As long as capitalism continues to exist, economic and health crises like this will continue to happen and expose capitalism’s nature.  The capitalist system does not care about the working class, who have suffered the most during this crisis.  Because of this, we will not stop the struggle until it is overthrown.”
