More demonstrations took place on June 26 against Bolsonaro’s military government and its genocidal handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. A banner reading, “Against genocide, it is right to rebel!” along with flags of the League of Poor Peasants (LCP, Liga dos Camponeses Pobres) were documented in Florianópolis.
Graffiti signed by the LCP was documented in Betim, reading “Only the agrarian revolution will give land to the poor!”
Activists with the revolutionary organization Current of the People Red Sun (Corriente del Pueblo Sol Rojo) in Mexico City continued their campaign in solidarity with the uprisings in Colombia under the slogan “Long live the great uprising of the Colombian People!”
Starting on June 23, the National Coordinator of Education Workers (Coordinadora Nacional de Trabajadores de la Educación) held a 72 hour protest in defense of public education with a sit-in at the National Palace, as well as rallies and marches.
In Essen, a large poster was documented in honor of Saúl Morales Hernández, a Mexican revolutionary who passed away on June 10. The poster reads, “Remembering our beloved comrade, Sol Rojo militant and member of the press commission”
In Bremen, a demonstration was held on June 27 in solidarity with the great uprisings in Colombia with a banner reading, “Long live the great uprising of the Colombian people!” As part of the protest, demonstrators denounced the German state after it came out that thousands of German weapons were illegally exported to Colombia, which are now being used against the Colombian people rebelling against the reactionary state.
In Vienna, a solidarity demonstration took place on the occasion of the International Solidarity Week for the release of Georges Ibrahim Abdallah. Abdallah, a Lebanese political prisoner of the French State, has been imprisoned for over 37 years for his role in the struggle for Palestinian national liberation. The action was taken in a park in a workers’ district where young people from the neighborhood took part.
In Tampere, posters were documented celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the posters stating “Long live the 100th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China! If we want a revolution, we have to be a revolutionary party! Unite under Maoism! Death to Revisionism!”
In Bodenstown, on June 26, Socialist Republicans from across Ireland gathered for the Annual Wolfe Tone Commemoration. Wolfe Tone was a leading Irish revolutionary figure and one of the founding members of the United Irishmen, a republican society that revolted against British rule in Ireland. Tone was sentenced to be hung by the British state and died in prison.
Graffiti was documented in Oxnard in solidarity with the four imprisoned peasants from Camp Manoel Ribeiro reading, “Freedom for the Brazilian political prisoners of Camp Manoel Ribeiro.”
Posters were documented in Houston reading, “Enemy of the people, US Army Sergeant Daniel Perry, Fight for people’s justice for Garrett Foster!” leading up to the announcement of Perry’s indictment on Thursday.
