International Actions Continue for Chairman Gonzalo

Chairman Gonzalo (Abimael Guzman Reynoso) was assassinated by the old Peruvian State on September 11. Since then, revolutionaries, people’s organizations, and progressives around the world have mobilized to carry out actions to honor his sacrifice and his contributions to the World Proletarian Revolution. Chairman Gonzalo was the leader of the Communist Party of Peru (PCP, Partido Comunista del Perú). He developed the proletarian ideology of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism by applying the teachings of Chairman Mao to the concrete reality of Peru and through his leadership of the People’s War in Peru.

Actions have not only honored Gonzalo, but denounced the Peruvian State, which, under the direction of US imperialism, killed him through a prolonged process of torture and isolation. The reactionaries allowed easily treatable diseases to overcome Chairman Gonzalo during his 29 years of solitary confinement at the Callao Naval Base. However, Chairman Gonzalo died delivering another defeat to the reactionaries, never once betraying the People’s War, and giving his life for World Proletarian Revolution and the ultimate goal of Communism.
