Week in Struggle: November 26- December 2

Turkey

The revolutionary organizations Partizan and New Democratic Youth (YDG, Yeni Demokrat Gençlik) held a demonstration calling for the exploited people of Turkey to unite against growing misery in late November. Participants held Partizan and YDG flags with Ibrahim Kaypakkaya’s face. Kaypakkaya founded the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML) and is the party’s ideological leader as it continues to fight a People’s War against the Turkish State. Demonstrators shouted the slogans, “Our Leader Ibrahim, Ibrahim Kaypakkaya,” “Victory will belong to the workers who resist,” “Rebel against fascism, Partizan is the leader of the people,” and “Set the barricades, organize in the YDG.”

Brazil

The League of Poor Peasants (LCP, Liga dos Camponeses Pobres) released a statement on November 26 responding to the murder, arrest, and continued imprisonment of peasants fighting to defend their land. The LCP organizes the poor peasants in Brazil’s countryside against the exploitation and oppression of the big landlords who own huge swaths of land. The LCP writes

While the murders and arrests of peasants and fighters accumulate, the police forces enjoy full impunity to continue committing crimes against the people. Two weights and two measures! Such facts only prove, once again the truth, that this old State is at the service of the latifundium, and against the poor people, especially those who rise up against injustice and in defense of their rights. They attack us with ferocity because they fear the peasant masses that advance in struggle and resistance!

More graffiti was documented on December 2 denouncing the old Brazilian State and the genocidal military government of president Jair Bolsonaro. The graffiti reads, “Down with the genocidal military government of Jair Bolsonaro!” and “Long live the LCP!”

Mexico

On November 26, Current of the People – Red Sun (CP-Sol Rojo, Corriente del Pueblo Sol Rojo) occupied the Administrative Complex in Oaxaca. Members of CP- Sol Rojo denounced the State for its repression, including the forced disappearance of Dr. Ernesto Sernas Garcia, the murder of CP-Sol Rojo militant Luis Armando Fuentes Aquino, and the arbitrary political imprisonment of Salvador Pinal Melendez. The reactionary Mexican State disappeared Dr. Sernas on May 10, 2018 for providing legal defense to CP-Sol Rojo militants. Comrade Luis Armando Fuentes Aquino was killed in a paramilitary ambush in 2019. Salvador Pinal Melendez was arbitrary imprisonment on September 20, 2021. This protest is part of the general campaign to denounce the Mexican State and speak to people about repression.

Germany

On November 28, a demonstration was held against the persecution of the organization Revolutionary Action Cells and the newspaper Radikal. The alleged members are accused of being responsible for several militant actions. After years of surveillance of the alleged members and a wave of house searches in 2013, the German judiciary-initiated proceedings ruled Revolutionary Action Cells as a criminal organization.

Over 150 demonstrators marched to the court, demanding freedom for all political prisoners. During the demonstration, the Berlin police repeatedly harassed demonstrators, violently repressing them and arresting multiple demonstrators.

On November 25, the International Day Against Violence Against Women, activists organized actions in HamburgFreiburgEssenBerlin, and Bremen. In Hamburg, two marches were held in which demonstrators carried large banners and flags, reiterating the need for a revolutionary women’s movement. The slogan “Against violence towards women! Combat and resist!” was reported in Freiburg. At the rallies in Essen, demonstrators held banners reading, “Women fight and defend themselves against exploitation and oppression.”

Public sector workers have continued to strike in Hamburg since November 24, when roughly 1000 public sector workers took to the streets demanding higher wages and better working conditions. Local revolutionaries continue to push for militant revolutionary unions putting up banners with the slogan, “Break the vicious cycle! For a militant union!”

United States

The slogan, “Long live Chairman Gonzalo!” with a hammer and sickle was documented on a wall in Los Angeles, California, with flames lit underneath it. The action was documented in the lead up to Chairman Gonzalo’s birthday, marked on December 3. Chairman Gonzalo (Abimael Guzman) died on September 11 this year, assassinated by the old Peruvian State under the direction of US imperialism. For his leadership of the Communist Party of Peru and the World Proletarian Revolution, he has been honored with hundreds of actions and events since his death by the people and proletariat of the world.

In Houston, Texas, and Orlando, Florida, flyers in support of the LCP and the struggle of the poor peasants in Brazil for land were documented. The flyers called on readers to follow and support the struggles of the poor peasants who fight for land, led by the LCP.

In Indianapolis, Indiana flyers promoting Tribune of the People were documented.
